Damn Right It's 'None of the Above'

A recent article from the AP opens:

WASHINGTON - And the leading Republican presidential candidate is ... none of the above.

The latest Associated Press-Ipsos poll found that nearly a quarter of Republicans are unwilling to back top-tier hopefuls Rudy Giuliani, Fred Thompson, John McCain or Mitt Romney,
What a breath of fresh air. Just got one word for you: Brownback.

You may be right about that, but regardless - he's the best candidate the GOP has and the only real shot America has at electing a decent leader.

I hate to say this because I like your blog and I like what you bring to the Faith, but if Guiliani does not get the nomination then be ready to say "Hail Hillary" for the next four years.

Well the way the GOP has handled themselves over the last X years, I'm not going to be terribly surprised to see her or Obama in office (either of which would be a catastrophe if you ask me)..

But just because Giuliani has the most recognizable name doesn't mean he's the best fit. I think having him on the ballot would alienate enough 'value voters' to give the democrats a win.

The GOP needs the conservative vote (Giuliani can get the fiscal conservatives, but not the moral conservatives).

Maybe I'm wrong. If you backed me into a corner, I'd rather see Giuliani in office than either of those two but only in the same way that I'd rather see Hitler in office than Stalin..

Brownback is the man, I hope he gets on the ticket with Romney or Thompson. I think I'll be sick to my stomach if Guiliani is the nominee.
